Why Did Shirdi Sai Baba Push Me Away?

For those of you who personally know me or who have read a few of my articles would know that I always share my experiences, miracles, interactions (dream and awake) especially about Shridi Sai Baba.

I was raised in a very religious family. The temple in our house looked like a shop where we displayed all the deities as statues, pictures, and calendars, along with their holy books. As a young child this was extremely confusing for me, as I did not know whom to pray to. So, I was taught that I should pray to all of them. Like an obedient child after my shower every morning, I paid my respects by touching the pictures without any intention, simply not to disrespect any of the deities.

Once I started encountering challenges in life, I was encouraged to pray more. Chanting, singing, reading the holy texts, and visiting temples became mandatory, because I must please the deities, and in turn they would bless me and “forgive” my sins.

However, this did not satisfy me because I did not feel the blessings pouring down upon me. And when I would ask my parents or Gurus why not, they would say have faith and patience. It seemed to me that they did not know the answer, and were just stalling me. So, I wanted to talk to God directly. No one in my family had ever communicated with God directly, it was always through some deity or Guru. I felt a resonance with Shirdi Sai Baba, so I figured that He would be my bridge to God.

This was the first time in my life I felt that I was communicating with God. I did not chant His name or read His scriptures back to Him. All I did was talk to Him as if I was speaking with my father or my best friend. I poured my heart out to Him, and questioned every belief that I was raised with. It was only a matter of days later that I started receiving my answers. The biggest misconception I had was that I was being punished for my partial vision loss. I was visited in a dream by Krishna and Shirdi Sai Baba, and was told that I had to go through these challenges, and that they were holding my hand at every step of the way. This was extremely comforting and insightful. Since then, I have had numerous interactions with beings of higher consciousness and gained insights that have transformed my life.

However, today I want to share with you something a little different, although, this may not resonate with the belief system that you were raised with. Therefore, please understand that my intention is never to change your belief, but to simply offer you another perspective.

Even though my connection with Shirdi Sai Baba is very strong, for a short period of time, I felt that he was pushing me away from him. I could not understand why. Without a doubt he was always on my mind, but I did not get any attractions of cravings to read his Holy text or to chant his name. Although, I would always bow down in front of his statue, there wasn’t a feeling that I was bowing down to God. It was more like greeting my best friend or father. In fact, very few people know this, but I even have a nickname for him, I refer to him as “Babz”.

Initially, my parents would become upset about this because I was so called “dis-respecting” their Shirdi Sai Baba, or should I say my “Babz”. But, consider this for a moment, don’t we have nicknames for the friends and family that we love? Overtime, I guess they realized this, and now my mom also sometimes calls Shridi Sai Baba, Babz, our Babz.

So, why was my “Babz” pushing me away from him, or was this only my perception? After all, who could answer that question besides my Babz? As I meditated on this, the answer I received was “Don’t seek me outside of you.”

Now, many of us believe or say that we believe that God is within us? But allow me to ask you this question, do you truly believe that in every part of your being, or is in just in your head? For me, at that time, “God is within me” was only cognitive, meaning just in my head.

I realized that this was the reason that Shirdi Sai Baba, or my Babz was pushing me away. He wanted me to discover him within myself, truly within my being, not simply in my head. As this happened, I remembered one of his quotes which said “either I AM in you, or you are in you”. This gave me another realization that if I wanted to fully experience Shridi Sai Baba, “I” or who I believe “I” am must get out of the way.

From that day onwards, the way I started to pray was completely different. I would not pray for blessings or grace to come from outside of me, or any higher power. Instead, I would pray for the strength to get out of the way and be receptive to guidance. Now, I feel that I’m becoming a better instrument of the Divine each day, while allowing the music to play through me. Of course, although the musician (the Divine) is perfect, this instrument (myself) isn’t. This means that I have a tremendous amount of inner work to do, in order to become a graceful instrument for the Divine.

As I discussed earlier in this article, my intention is not to change your belief. However, I invite you to discover this level of consciousness for yourself. If you continue to believe that God is outside of you, then you will also believe that happiness, peace, and grace our outside of you. When you believe that God or Divinity is within you, then everything that you believe that the Divine represents, such as bliss, grace, forgiveness, etc. will be created from within you.

So, Shirdi Sai Baba did push me away, but it was for me to discover Him within myself. Today he is so deep within me there is absolutely no separation. This has offered me so much inner peace, clarity, strength, and courage to speak the truth regardless of what people may think of me. This feeling is what I truly call Freedom.

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.” – St. Francis of Assisi

Receive Answers From the Universe in Your Dreams

One of the most exciting subjects that I explore with my clients is how to get answers from the Universe, either in their waking or dream state. I enjoy this subject as much as they do; it’s powerful and transformative. It brings so much clarity and a sense of oneness within them.

In many of my articles and videos, I have talked about how I’ve connected with beings of higher consciousness in my dreams to get answers to my questions, or simply explore what is possible beyond the physical dimensions. At times in may be Shirdi Sai Baba, Satya Sai Baba, Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva, Guru Nanik, ascended masters, angels, spirit guides or even my higher self.

So today, I decided to discuss this subject briefly so that you can get started on this exciting journey of receiving answers from the Universe in your dreams.

Allow me to illustrate this to you with a simple personal experience. For those of you who know me, my body has been diabetic for over 20 years and I inject insulin everyday. However, this was never a problem until I lost partial vision. When my vision reduced, I was unable to see the needle because it is extremely tiny, and I would be required to uncap and cap the needle back when I was finished. I try to cap the needle with my magnification glasses a couple times, but was unsuccessful. In fact, I even poked myself a few times. This needle poke was quite painful and created a fearful memory within me. Whenever I would attempt to cap the needle, the fearful memory would arise and send chills down my spine. However, I needed to find a solution to this, because I couldn’t depend on my parents help every time.

One evening it occurred to me that I should ask the Universe for an answer, and so I did. Early the next morning I woke up from a dream, which gave me the answer, on exactly how to solve the problem. Before breakfast, I followed the exact procedure on the insulin injection, and was able to cap the needle safely. What’s even more fascinating is that the fearful memory also cleared during my dream. I no longer felt the chills in my spine when my finger would get close to the needle. Today, I even cap the needle with my eyes closed.

We all have the capacity to connect with our higher self, sub-conscious mind, super-conscious (mind of God), angels, spirit guides, or ancestors etc. Unfortunately, many people believe that this is only the capability of certain elevated individuals. This is false. Everyone has this capability, but it must be cultivated and enhanced.

The easiest way to get answers is to use your dreams because this is the time when the bridge between the conscious, sub-conscious, and super-conscious mind is open. Information is able to freely flow across these states of mind. The challenge, however, is that many people are unaware of this state. For this reason, even though the answers are coming through, they are unable to see, hear or feel it.

The first step to get answers in your dreams is to first become aware that you are dreaming. With most individuals, there is no separation between the dream and the dreamer. Once you become aware that you are the dreamer during the dream, you can choose to remember the information that has come through. However, to be “awake” in your dream state, you must first become “awake” in your waking state.

Every person has different learning styles, and due to the limited scope of this article, I will not discuss this in depth. Although, if you want to experience a deeper connection with the Universe, then you can follow this simple technique to raise your awareness in your awaking state.

The technique is to simply cultivate the sense of wonder within you. Today, life has become so mundane for many people that they have lost this sense of wonder. But, they fail to realize how powerful this sense is.

The sense of wonder will instantly raise your level of awareness. For example, if you visit a new city, you’re excited to explore, so your sense of wonder and awareness is raised so that you don’t miss out on anything exciting. Alternately, when you walk down the same road to work everyday, there is no sense of wonder, no sense of awareness. You are lost in your own thoughts and are practically unconscious of your surroundings.

Therefore, to start receiving answers to your questions from the Universe, you must raise your ability to see, hear, and feel deeply. In fact, the universe is always answering your questions; it’s just that you’re not listening.

I invite you to start your journey of awareness with the desire of experiencing the magic of existence around and within you. I assure you that this will be the greatest gift that you will give to yourself and the world.

Shirdi Sai Baba & Kali Mata appeared in my dream on Diwali Day 2014

Oct 23, 2014 @ 2.45AM, Taipei – Before I went to bed last night, as always I wished Shirdi Sai Baba a good night. However, since I knew it was Diwali I asked him to appear in my dream. Whenever I’ve asked Shirdi Sai Baba to appear in my dream he has always appeared and answered any questions I may have had, blesses me with Udi (sacred ashes),or we simply have some fun together (dancing, visions, etc.).

In my dream this morning, I was in a very beautiful house. On some level I knew that it was my house as I was familiar with it, but on another level I could not remember any of my previous homes that were designed that way. Shirdi Sai Baba was walking around the house with me and I was so happy to have him there. As I joined my hands and kneeled down, my eyes were flowing with tears of joy. Then I started to float up towards the ceiling. As I reached the ceiling, I thought to myself “Wow, this is really cool, I wonder what will happen when I pass through the ceiling, and what exactly is happening here?” I then heard a voice saying “Kali Mata is here”. This was also a great blessing, but I became a little hesitant and self-conscious after hearing that voice. Due to my hesitance, I stopped floating up and woke up from the dream.

As I opened my eyes, I saw Shirdi Sai Baba’s face in front of me. His hand was placed on his chin as if he was thinking. I continued to look at him with my eyes open for about 4 seconds until his face slowly disappeared. I then noticed that my body was sweating, my heart was racing, and I was breathing very heavily as if I had just run a marathon. In a future article, I will share the significance of these physical symptoms that occur after a Divine dream.

I have had dream experiences of Shirdi Sai Baba, Satya Sai Baba, Krishna, Guru Nanak, Shiva, etc. However, this has been the first time that there was a presence of Kali Mata.

I would like to share with everyone that there is tremendous power in prayer, especially before going to sleep. I have had countless miracles happen and questions answered especially by communicating with Shirdi Sai Baba before going to bed. In future articles, I will share some of these experiences.

Shirdi Sai Baba always says, “I give my devotees whatever they want, but I wait for them to ask me what I want to give them”. This is why I always ask him to offer me experiences that He wants to give me. In this way, I am always surprised and fascinated by experiencing him in my waking or dream state.

This was a wonderful Diwali blessing that I would like to share with everyone.

What did Lord Krishna Teach me in my Dream Today?

July 13, 2014 @ 5.50AM – I woke up from an insightful dream a few minutes ago.

I seemed to have a very close relationship with Lord Krishna, so I invited my friend to visit his palace. As we entered the palace we were stunned to see how beautifully it was designed.

Lord Krishna then invited my friend to show him around while I followed. Lord Krishna first showed my friend the “evil” room. He told him that he could go into that room and enjoy playing around with as many evil acts as he wanted without fear of the consequences. He would simply enjoy the present moment pleasures of the evil acts. This room was extremely beautiful, but all the evil gaming features were turned off.

Lord Krishna then invited my friend to the “good” room. Similarly, my friend could play around with as many good actions as he wanted, without worrying about the results of those good actions. He would simply enjoy the present moment pleasures of the good actions. This room was designed exactly the same as the evil room, and all the gaming features were also turned off.

Lord Krishna then asked my friend which room he would like to try out?
My friend instantly responded by saying that he wanted to try out the “good” room.

Lord Krishna then told him that the only problem with the good room was that there was a waiting list and he would have to wait a while before using it.

Remembering that both the rooms were designed exactly the same, my friend decided to change his mind and use the evil room instead.

That’s when I woke up.

As I analyzed this dream, I realized that we naturally have the feeling to choose actions towards good. Although, sometimes the pleasures we get from good acts do not come to us instantly. On the other hand, acts of evil often give us instant pleasures.

My friend in this situation initially chose the “good” room, but when he realized that patience was required before using the room, he changed his mind and chose the evil room. He was so desperate for enjoying immediate pleasures in his life that he chose the evil room.

Patience was the powerful lesson to learn here.
How often do we intentionally choose the wrong path simply because the results would be instant?

Patience is a virtue that is cultivated over time through practice. Faith and wisdom allow a person to make the right decision at the right time. Alternately, in some situations, decisions do need to be made instantly. When this is the case, it is imperative to use intuition along with faith and wisdom.

Although, similar to patience, intuition is also a virtue which takes time to develop. However, imagine how effective you would be if patience, faith, wisdom, and intuition were a natural part of your decision making process.

Think about it.

Why Did I Stop Crying?

Feb 24, 2014 @ 3.45AM – During my dream, there was an old lady wearing a white sari and rubbed some healing oil on my face.
Then as I started to walk away, I felt dizzy and asked her what she had applied on me. She did not reply, and started walking away with me.

We then saw another lady also dressed in white who was falling down the stairs, so we ran to her rescue. As she fell, I caught her on my lap. It seemed to me at the time that this lady had taken on someone else's suffering upon herself and fell due to that. The lady beside me started crying for her, and so did I. I kept looking up at the sky and screaming, "Shirdi Sai Baba, what are you doing? Why are you doing this?” We were weeping uncontrollably.

Then I had a stroke of insight during the dream, and heard myself saying "why am I crying, God knows what he is doing. Am I crying just because the other lady is crying and it's expected of me? I started to calm down, and woke up. My heart was pounding, and I was drenched in sweat.

We always witness difficult situations in our lives that make us feel sad, angry, or betrayed. However, instead of being mindful in that situation, we simply follow the reactions of the crowd. This tends to multiply the emotions.

On a cognitive level, we all understand that whatever happens is because of the will of God. In fact, it is not the will of God, but the authorization of God. It is a cause of our free-will that has resulted in the situation, and we define it as the will of God. If it truly was only God's will, then we would have complete right to blame Him for every unfortunate situation in our lives. God does not interfere with free-will; however, we can only practice free-will because of the authorization of God. It is said that not even a blade of grass can bend without God’s will.

If we believe this, then there is absolutely no reason to feel anger, sorrow, depression, or complain because it is ultimately a result of our free-will on a deeper level. We would also not question God anymore as to why certain things happen in our lives.

If we practice mindfulness, and simply not follow the crowd as it’s expected of us, we will experience a mind of calmness and clarity.

A Scroll from Shirdi Sai Baba

May 30th @5.55AM – Today, Shirdi Sai Baba appeared to me in a dream and handed something like a scroll or tablet. I could not figure out whether it was solid or paper. It had some text written on it that seemed like a combination of Egyptian hieroglyphics and Arabic text, but it was not in any pictorials, so I could not guess the characters. I looked at it for some time, as if trying to memorize it or decrypt it, but I could not.

I asked Shirdi Sai Baba to please translate this for me as I could not understand it. Then I noticed that instead of it being translated, it appeared clearer, as if in bold font. I then realized that it may not be translated, so I asked Shridi Sai Baba to please imprint this into my mind, and may it be revealed to me at the right time.

At that moment the text started to slowly fade away as if it was being transferred into my mind. Once the text cleared from the tablet/scroll I woke up and noticed that my t-shirt was wet from sweat, which always seems to happen when I experience such dreams.

I don’t have any insights to share from this dream, but it was just a very interesting experience.

There have been times when some dreams with Shirdi Sai Baba have been so beautiful and blissful, that I wish I had a camera in my mind to capture it.

Buddha Purnima 2014 Dream

May 14, 2014, 3.50am – I have been falling in and out of a dream state several times since the past few minutes. Whenever I’m back in the dream Satya Sai Baba appears to me. He does not say anything. As I come out of the dream state, I see a reflection of his head in front of me. This occurred about three times, and while it was happening, I remember thinking to myself, “I better stop meditating, because strange things are starting to happen again”. In any case, as I fell back into the dream state, I saw Satya Sai Baba sitting on my bed. He wasn’t looking at me, he seemed to be busy doing something, as if looking for an object in a box.

I tapped him on the shoulder and said “Swami”.
He turned towards me and stood up. He was looking young, and extremely handsome. He was wearing an orange robe, and the wall behind him was blue.
He was so pleased to see me. He shook my hand with both his hands and said “Thank you Dinesh, Thank you for being there”. As I shook his hand I remember thinking to myself, “Swami, please speak slowly, I will have to remember this to write it down”.

I believe that there was one more thing that he had said, but because that thought was running through my head I could not remember what it was. He then embraced me and said, “Spread my message”. While I was embracing him, I could see the blue wall behind him, which had a poster on it that read, “Be at your Home”. It was a white poster with black text. I then fully woke up, with my heart racing and body sweating as usual when I experience such dreams.

During the next few days, I may get more insights about the significance of this dream, which I will share on my blog Bliss with Sai. Meanwhile, I guess I need to remember Satya Sai Baba’s words “spread my message”.

UPDATE @ 7.00am - To add a little more to this – after I went back to bed, Shirdi Sai Baba appeared in my dream at around 7am, which woke me up. He was tall and wearing a peach colored robe. Honestly, I did notice him, but I was too tired to interact with him.

I later found out when I woke up that today is an auspicious day, Buddha Poornima and Full Moon.

I will share some deeper information on lucid dreaming, mindfulness, etc. in the upcoming blog post.

Shirdi Sai Baba Healing Technique

In this article, I am sharing a healing technique that was revealed to me by Shirdi Sai Baba in a dream on April 11, 2014 in Taipei.

Since I formed a Relationship with God, I have had numerous interactions with beings of higher consciousness in my dreams, especially Shirdi Sai Baba. Sometimes, he answers my questions, showers me with Udi (sacred ashes), shows me visions of the future, and dances with me. He has also found creative ways to appear to me in my waking state, simply to affirm my faith in him. In the upcoming articles I will share many of the interactions. Previously, I was hesitant of sharing such experiences because these are my private moments with Shirdi Sai Baba and sometimes very strange. These dream sequences have become deeper over time, and recently the dreams continue even after I open my eyes. In addition, I absolutely do not doubt these dreams, as it’s written in the Shri Sai Satcharitra that Sai Baba appeared to his devotees very often in their dreams to give messages.

After these dreams I am unable to sleep as my heart is racing and my body is sweating. I also feel a heavy energy and twitching of my crown and third eye chakra. This is why I decide to type the experience immediately.

In this article I am sharing Shirdi Sai Baba’s healing technique, which he revealed to me on April 11, 2014.

Every evening around 7pm I read 1-2 chapters of the Shri Sai Satcharitra. However, last night since I was busy with other work, I apologized to Shirdi Sai Baba for not being able to read it, as I would not have been able to meet my deadline. Around 2.45am (Taiwan) I had a dream where I was reading the Shri Sai Satcharitra in front of the statue of Shirdi Sai Baba just as I do everyday in my waking state. I may have done this in my dream to compensate for not reading it during my waking state. As I was reading, I heard Shirdi Sai Baba saying to me “I am telling you how to heal yourself. Touch yourself and repeat “Sai Ram”.
My question to Shirdi Sai Baba was “Is it that simple?”. I have learned many healing techniques before, and none of them are so simple. He did not respond to my query, but in my heart I heard him say, “Are you doubting me why don’t you try it?” I then placed my right hand on the right side of my jaw and repeated Sai Ram a few times. I did not have any pain at that time so I don’t know if it worked. I then asked him if I should share this technique with others, he responded by saying “Yes, do not hide healing techniques”. I then asked “what time is it in the dream”, and the clock showed 4.45am. Immediately after that my Guru Baba Hiral Shah appeared. He was dressed in white and his face was glowing with a big smile. My mom then said to him “Did you know that Shirdi Sai Baba was here”. He continued to smile and said, “that’s very good”. He then placed his hand under my shirt and applied Udi (sacred ashes) on my heart chakra. This is where the dream ended, so I thought. When I opened my eyes I saw a being dressed in white, but I could not recognize him. I blinked slowly, and tried looking at him again, but I could not recognize him. I blinked my eyes once again, however this time I saw a being standing a little further away. He was tall and dressed in white, although I could not see his face. After I looked at him for a few seconds he disappeared.

In the dream I was told to share this healing technique with others. If you have full faith, I encourage you to adopt this healing technique.

How to practice Shirdi Sai Baba’s healing technique:
1.     Invoke the Supreme God and Shirdi Sai Baba for divine blessings, guidance, healing, love, and protection.
2.     Affirm to yourself that you are Super-receptive to the healing that is being received (this removes any résistance in your mind/body).
3.     Place your hand(s) on the affected area of your body.
4.     Repeat “Sai Ram” as long as possible or until the pain reduces/disappears.
5.     Affirm to yourself with full-conviction that you have been healed.
6.     Humbly thank the Supreme God and Shirdi Sai Baba for the healing.

"My people do not come to me of their own accord; it is I who seek and bring them to me." - Shirdi Sai Baba
